April Lockhart

April Lockhart was born on July 4, 1995. in seventh grade. She began playing guitar and piano lessons, sparking her interest in music writing. The first song she wrote was called Different which she composed when she was 12 years old. When she was 14 April, she spent a lot of time writing lyrics and perfecting her music skills. Soon, April began going in NY and LA along with her dad in order for them both to write songs. April started to incorporate various other topics relevant to the"Take my Hand song for some close friends, like peer pressure problems and suicides among teenagers. Lockhart is a beauty and lifestyle influencer with an ever-growing number of followers. She works with popular brand Ilia with whom she has a partnership in addition to being a specialist in lifestyle. She was not born with a left-hand, which is why she's what she is. But that's far from the whole story. Lockhart's Instagram profile doesn't hide her disability but doesn't just focus on it. The message is? We are all more than just our physical self. The identities we have are complex and include a myriad of dimensions. Lockhart stated in a video interview that she doesn't wish to be defined by her handicap. She does not want to become an advocate for disabled people who only talks about that. There are many aspects to Lockhart. This doesn't influence my day-to-day life. I conduct the same way as I always do and have developed my own methods to adjust. This is a major element of my life therefore it's important to talk about the subject. Self-acceptance is a long marathon but Lockhart is a true inspiration in this regard. She admits that she has gone through phases of being uncomfortable with her body, and also feeling uncomfortable wearing some clothing types that exposed her arms. She wears what she likes and is proud to post pictures of herself wearing the clothes she picks out on social media. Self-love, she says, is a process. "I don't think you will ever be in that place," she said. That's true of everyone regardless of their insecurity. People you associate yourself with, who know you, and can see into your heart are the most important people who can remind you of the things you're worrying about.
