I worked for months, working 12- hour days cleaning floors and tear down wallpaper the baby on my back and the others crawling in the playpen. Ha! We were getting close to completing, however it was still a long distance away. To furnish the home would be an enormous undertaking with regards to time and money. It was also going to be a challenge to go out and shop for my most-loved items. In order to stay in the realm of budgets, I took to taking my kids to estate sales looking for of diamonds. Our routine for the week was to spend Thursday-Saturday walking through garage sales buying a mixture of antique and brand new furniture as well as spending on weekdays painting and sanding the driveway. The look was a little similar to the following... Here is where my obsession with in the process of restoring old furniture got started. When our house was completed, I was unable to give up! There was a spot at the local markets that I could sell my items. I could outgrow the area because I had many more pieces than I was able to use. I started having open houses in my home that saw more than 1 000 visitors could visit in the span of a weekend. They could purchase whatever they saw on the first floor. Growing Days is the result of all this. As my business flourished, so did our little family. In a way, I found the ideal equilibrium between motherhood and starting my new company. Growing Days fit perfectly. The year was 2013, and my beautiful daughter Nora was born. She is our fourth child. I was thrilled with where my company was taking me, but I felt like I needed a break. I opted to take a little breaks from my old furniture and slow down to remain at home with the kids. This was precisely what I required. It was only after several months when the phones began to ring. Calls came in asking me to assist them in interior decor and home renovations. Most of them walked into my house at my open house for furniture. While I was working I began adding clients to my list one by one. But it wasn't long before I managed multiple clients and ran an extremely successful business of home renovation. Most likely, I would have been laughing if someone had told me the venture was going to be the basis for an upcoming TV show in the DIY Network. It's funny to think back about it.
